Among the center’s impressive features are the large water features and dramatic fountains. Marc Dutton Irrigation, Inc. provided the design, installation and fabrication of the components for the pool and waterfall section, completing the work in stages as was allowable within the framework of the center’s construction schedule.
For the large granite spheres, the Dutton specialists challenged the laws of physics, balancing the right amount of water flow to lift and spin the spheres while not overflowing, causing the spheres to fall out and roll down the aisles of the shopping center. Each sphere is precisely controlled by two different pressurized water streams: one lifts, the other controls the speed of rotation. The end effect is mesmerizing and engaging.
Behind the scenes, carefully engineered controls and extremely fine filters assure outstanding operation. Even the smallest debris could disrupt proper operation, so filters a designed for special vigilance.
